Carol Wolff broke her hip this past Tuesday and is in Room 715 in the Green Tower at Kennestone Hospital.  The Doctor put a pin and 2 screws in on Wed evening.  She's doing great - walked twice yesterday and is sitting up in a chair most of the time.  Don't know how long she'll be in the hospital but she'll be out of work for 6 wks.  Her sister, Barb, drove down from Ohio yesterday and will be here for a couple of weeks. Please keep Carol and her care givers in your prayers.

DeColroes

I have a friend that after we prayed for his sister (who was on death’s door) made a miraculous recovery.

 

He contacted me today with a request for his youngest granddaughter, AVA Estrem (22 months old) who is in the hospital. Originally she was admitted for something a boil/bug bite that got infected.  It has morphed into something much more serious (diagnosed MRSA Google search shows that it is real scary)  His Father died from the same type of thing a month ago. 

 

He is not Catholic but he tells everyone that our Catholic prayer group led to the healing of his sister and he hopes and prays that our intercessory prayers (storming the gates of heaven) will result in God healing for Ava.

We received word that Deacon Jimmy Stewart from Holy Cross Parish lost his wife, Gwyn, last night after a long battle with cancer.  I do not have any additional information.  Both Jimmy and Gwyn were very active for several years in the Cursillo Movement having made their weekends in 1970.  Please keep the entire Stewart family in your prayers.

They plan to have a viewing on Monday, December 5th from 6:00-7:00pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church then a Vigil Service at 7:00pm.  The funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, December 6, at Holy Cross at 11:00am.

We received a message from Cesar Seoane stating that Deanna Mitchell's son, Bobby, passed away in his sleep yesterday, November 28th.  Bobby’s funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church (7171 Glenridge Drive, Atlanta, GA 30328) at 11:00am this Saturday, December 2. Deanna made her Cursillo weekend in March 2010. Please keep the Mitchell family in your prayers.

I am heartbroken and saddened to tell you that our dear sister, Linda Devlin, passed away earlier today. Please pray for the repose of her soul, that she be carried on the wings of angels to the arms of Jesus. I know how much she missed Mike, and the thought that they are somehow reunited is small comfort for those of us who are left to mourn the hole she leaves in our hearts and lives. As Christians, death - being in the presence of our Holy God - is what we live for, and so we should rejoice for her as she joins the angels and saints in Heaven singing His praise. Rest in peace dear sister - you will be forever missed.

Ray Towle has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Further testing by a rheumatologist is necessary to determine to extent and severity of the disease. Ray asks his beloved sister and brother cursillistas for their prayers that he will openly accept the will of God.

Linda Devlin, from St. Pius parish is back in the hospital. She was admitted with difficult breathing and the doctor said it could be a blood clot in her lungs, fluid in her lungs or from her kidneys which are not functioning very well, or from her heart..... She needs our prayers.

Peggy Grannan, a candidate who planned to attend our current women’s weekend, was admitted to Gwinnett Medical with a blood clot moving toward her lungs

And finally, Debbie Markby’s mother was taken to the emergency room yesterday afternoon. Debbie had planned to work on the women’s team.

I'm sad to report that an old-time Cursillista from St. Jude's died on Saturday morning. His name is Ray Stuermer. He is married to Terri Stuermer who is also a Cursillista. Ray was very active in the 70's and 80's. He is to be cremated and his memorial service is at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church on Saturday at 3:00pm. It is with sadness that I relay to you the untimely death of Denise McKay’s husband Charles. He died this afternoon from a heart attack. Denise was on the upcoming women’s team and she got word to Penny that she would not be able to serve. That is so typical of Denise, to think of us in the midst of what she is now facing. Very courageous and faithful she is. Denise and I made our weekends together in ’97 and she has worked many, many weekends. She needs our prayers, as well for her daughters who are in route to her from Kentucky. Let us now come together in lifting up Denise and her family’s needs to God for comfort.

My 21 year old niece, Tatiana, is an unwed mother in her 6th month of pregnancy. She was living in a Catholic home for unwed mothers in Louisiana near family but suddenly left the home and moved to Indiana. Tatiana was adopted from Russia at the age of 7 and has been in America since 1996. She is very insecure and seeks love and affection in dangerous circumstances. He told us last month that there was a 30% risk of it coming back around. We were just hoping it wouldn't. Please pray this is not a chronic case and that he has NO complications.

Keith Speed is also having surgery which will fuse the C4 and C5 vertebrae and put in a titanium plate. Keith's surgery is scheduled for Wednesday June 2nd at North Georgia Medical Center. Please pray that Keith has a successful surgery, and that he regains more use of his left arm.

Also, Deacon Mike Byrne's father died yesterday in New York after a short illness. Mike serves at St. John Neumann parish. Please pray for Mike, his Dad and the whole family.

I just learned that Drew Shurmantine is having spinal fusion surgery next Monday the 31st. He will probably be in Kennestone Hospital for a couple days following the surgery. The surgery will fuse the C5,C6 and C7 vertebrae and a titanium plate will stabilize the area. Please keep Drew in your prayers as well as prayers for the skill of his surgeon!

Jim Wolf had surgery to remove a tumor from his bladder. However, they found another very small spot so he will start 6 weeks of chemotherapy nest week. Plus, Leanna is doing much better, but is still going to physical therapy for her back. Please keep both in your prayers.

Also, please pray for Linda Devlin (past Ultreya leader at St.Pius Church in Conyers) and her family. Her husband Mike....passed away Sunday night. Mike had been awaiting a lung transplant for sometime now, but had battled pneumonia in recent days.

Pray for Art Eyzaguirre was hospitalized at Kennestone for several days but I have not received more information. Please also add him to your prayer list.

Rosalie and Bob Grandsden's daughter, Leigh Ann, had a brain bleed. At first the MD did not think they could operate but he did on Tuesday. She survived the surgery and is stable in ICU at North Fulton hospital. Please keep them all in your prayers.

Rodney Darensbourg is gravely ill at St. Joseph's Hospital. Please keep Rodney, his wife and daughter, Margaret & Catherine, and his sister Robin in your prayers.

Please put my grandson Dakota on the prayer list, he is in the hospital in KY and they are not sure what is wrong with him. His oxygen stats keep dropping unless he is on oxygen. He was admitted this morning to Kosairs Children's Hospital. Dakota is just a year old and we would appreciate all the prayers for him and his family.

Greetings to All,

Tuesday, Jimmy had a successful surgery.  His left kidney, ureter and part of his bladder were removed and there was not any cancer in his lump nodes.  He is cancer FREE. PRAISE THE LORD!!  The doctors had to cut on him a lot more then the standard operation so he is pretty uncomfortable at the moment.  He is in critical care just for observation.  He is getting wonderful care.  With God's grace and time he will heal.  Thank the Lord.

We both want to thank everyone for your love and yours prayers.  We have felt your love and your prayers all alone and still feel them.  This community is awesome.

I would ask you to continue to pray.  It means so much to both Jimmy and me.

May the the peace and joy of our dear Savior be with you all.

Some of you may know, and some of you may not, but we are in need of your prayers for our daughter Katherine.

 
    Katherine has been in a wheel chair for a month having lost use primarily of her left leg, and with a weak right leg. To spare you many of the details, we've been working with her pediatrician, ER doctors, orthopedists, physical therapists, and a neurologist (where we are currently) and have had a plethora of tests ranging from blood work and x-rays to an MRI and others, to discover what's going on.  While we have no answers yet, we have a major test scheduled this Thursday, 11/5, with the neurologist, and are asking for your prayers that in its results, we receive more answers than additional questions.
 
    The support of our family and friends have aided us so much in the past, and we are calling upon you now to lift up Katherine, and ask our precious Lord to help her doctors determine a diagnosis and a plan for her healing.  Your prayers have been and will continue to be our strength and support in this challenging time.

1)  Many of you may remember Gail Hozman from St. Lawrence, she worked on team several times but moved to Florida.  She

lost her husband, Roberto 10/04/09 to a massive heart attack.  He was just 58.

2)  Prayer Request for the Horan Family, John Horan’s father passed away yesterday (Wednesday).  John and Benita will need all the prayers and support during this time of loss.

3)  Also Dave Dickson from Newnan area, he is 62 years old and has cancer in the stomach, backbone and pelvis.  He was given 2 months to live.

4)  Of course continue to pray for Liz Rovneyko that her treatments are successful.

    Prayers needed again for my next door neighbor Joe S. is not doing well. (see May 4th entry) A recent cancer treatment of chemotherapy has ravaged other organs in his body, including his kidneys.     I learned that Jack Knight had chest pains and went to the hospital on Saturday.  They determined that he had a heart attack and was scheduled for triple bypass surgery this morning!  One artery is 100% blocked.  Please keep him and Leslie in your prayers.

    Father Steve underwent triple by-pass surgery this morning at St. Joseph's hospital and all went well, he is in recovery.  He will remain in the hospital for at least 3-4 days, however it will be restricted visitation!  After he is released from the hospital he plans to take a few weeks off in order to recuperate. Please continue your prayers for his recovery.

    I learned today that Pete Jennings (husband of Jean, the caretaker at Kings Retreat Center) fell off his roof on Feb. 25th.  No broken bones but damaged a kidney.  He is in ICU at the VA Medical Center in Salem, VA. please pray for his recovery!

She had a brother who was a priest but died long time ago and she doesn't go to Church for over 30 years. She had a difficult life and she desperately needs God's help. Sir, My name is Obulesh.c, Aged about 42years, Born again Christian, living in Bangalore INDIA I have two children and wife and my mother and younger sister also living with me, I am working for a small private company. I am suffering with chronic pancreatitis for which I have to undergo surgery which I can not afford to pay for the said surgery. I am going to admit in the hospital on 25th Jan' 09 for my surgery, on top of that I have other debts. I don't know what to do and how to come out of it, therefore I request you to pray for my surgery and for my debts to have miraculous financial help to come out of this hard situation.
